In this teaching, Assistant Pastor Dewayne Freeman stresses the importance of studying the Bible. the scripture tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 – study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. In order for us to divide the word of truth, we must know how to study the Bible. We need to study so that we can renew our mind, purge our conscience of dead works and sin stained things in our mind. We need to let the blood of Jesus purge our minds so that our minds can be free to walk in the things of the Almighty God. We cannot do that if we don’t study to know and understand the word of God.
Assistant Pastore Dewayne explains the difference between studying the Bible and ready the Bible. Studying the Bible is getting an understanding of the word and reading the Bible is just getting information. He said we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and we are FREE from sin. We know this because we study God’s word and we know God’s word. We must devote time and attention to the word.
